St Estephe, Bordeaux

St-Estephe is Bordeaux's northern most village located on the left bank of the river Gironde within the Haut-Medoc. St-Estephe is home to only five Chateaux named on the 1855 Grande Cru classification but is however, home to more Cru Bourgeois Chateaux than all the other appellations combined.
This makes St-Estephe a region that offers exceptional value as many of the Cru Bourgeois Chateaux are considered to produce wines of an equivelant or even better quality than some of the 5th Cru Chateaux that sell for a much higher price. One example of which is Chateau Ormes De Pez located around the hamlet of Pez. Ormes De Pez is one of the origional Cru Bourgeois Exceptionelle Chateaux that consistently produce wines of a Grande Cru Classe standard at a much lower price.
We have also bought Chateau Meyney and Chateau Lilian-Ladouys in the 2017 vintage, both highly regarded producers and exceptional value, these are due to arrive early 2020.
