Palmers have been ageing and blending Golden Cap Whisky at The Old Brewery in Bridport since the 1920s. Golden Cap is a generous 50-50 blend of North British Distillery Single Grain and Glen Grant Single Malt, married with our own spring water, before being bottled and labelled by hand. Delicious, light and fragrant, it beats many a blended whisky.

Palmer's own brand new London Dry Gin, Seven Swans. Fresh, aromatic and citrusy, this is a premium gin made in a classic style. Our preferred serve is over ice, with a generous splash of Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic and a wedge of lime.

A comprehensive history of this Bridport brewery built in 1794 by the Gundry family (who had been brewing in Bridport since the early 18th century) and acquired by Palmers in 1895.These early times and the subsequent vicissitudes of the 20th century are well described right through to the 1990s - and still a thriving family business.Some excellent illustrations - bottle labels, adverts, staff,the war years, brewing scenes past & present, Bridport pubs, brewery drays, pub signs etc plus a detailed family tree from 1775 to 2007.

Celebrated restaurateur and food writer, Mark Hix, has toured the country with leading photographer Jason Lowe to re-discover forgotten, traditional dishes and start putting British regional food back on the map. Each chapter celebrates and examines a particular region, introducing the reader to its landscape and indigenous products, and includes fascinating information and anecdotes about the traditions behind some of the country's most beloved meals.
