Givry, Champ Pourot, Ragot
From a 1.5 hectare plot in the Champ Pourot vineyards, aged for 10 months in oak, 25% new from 50 years old vines.
Straw yellow in colour with fresh, crisp minerality and ripe fruit. Gentle oak gives a creamy mouth feel and a touch of toast and vanilla. Drinks well from now and for the next couple of years.
The Ragot have been making wine since 1760 when they started out in Mercury. Generations later the family continues today in the village of Givry where they own 9 hectares of vineyard, a third of which are Premier Cru sites. Owned and run by Jean-Paul Ragot with his son Nicholas Ragot working as the winemaker Domaine Ragot produce nine wines altogether including a Crement, two whites and three Premier Cru Pinot Noirs.
