Wine Description:

Marsannay produces a more delicate style of Pinot Noir due to it's northerly location at the very top of Burgundy and Sylvain Pataille is one of the top producers creating wines with great finesse.

Tasting Note:

Complex and deep, this is a wine with great length. Cloves spice and mulberry on the nose followed by a generous palate offering black cherry, black forest fruits, sweet spice, earth and a touch of liquorice. This wine is starting to drink but with patience will develop much complexity over the coming years. Your patience will be rewarded!

Producer Description

Sylvain Pataille was considered for many years to be the rising star of Burgundy. He has now surpassed the "rising star" title and is one of Burgundys most well respected producers often working as a consultant and advisor to other producers. Based solely in Marsannay Sylvain did not inherit vineyards or a winery and had to start from scratch. His first vintage was in 2001 and his wines have continued to get better with each vintage.
