A blend of over 40 Cognacs aged for more than 10 years and made exclusivley from grapes grown in Grande Champagne, the finest Cru of the Cognac region.

Produced by the same team and from the same vineyards as Château Palmer, Alter Ego is literally the 'other side' of Palmer, another expression of Palmer. Alter Ego has the distinction and character of Palmer but is made to be drunk much earlier. Merlot is generally the dominant grape variety, making it supple and ready to open within 3 years of the harvest. A great wine with intense fruit, fresh and juicy.

Only produced in exceptional years from exclusively Grand Cru rated grapes. Rich, biscuity and yeasty, this wine carries the ultimate expression of the house style.

A sustained amber colour. Powerful nose of well-integrated oak, roasted hazelnut, almond and dried apricot. Rounded, spicy palate of cinnamon and nuts.

Hine has a much publised connection with Beaminster and we stock three of their most recognisable blends. Thomas Hine married the daughter of a gentleman who owned a Cognac House in Jarnac. By 1817 the company was renamed Thomas Hine & Company. VSOP status requires that the the contents must have spent at least four years in cask although in reality many of the brandies will be considerably older.

The top Armagnac from Chateau De Pellehaut made from their finest grapes. The Armagnac is a blend of reserves with a minimum age of 20 years.

A pleasant pale gold amber colour; subtle, developed aromas of brioche, toasted bread and fresh butter. Fresh, complex and creamy in the mouth with delicate effervescence. This vintage Cuvee will enchant connoisseurs for aperitif, can replace afternoon tea for afficionados or be enjoyed over fish, poultry or soft flowery cheese. Uncork 30min before serving to allow the wine to open up and develop its aromas.
