Chateau Ormes De Pez

Chateau Ormes De Pez is an estate based at the northern end of St-Estephe, a commune which itself is the Medoc's most northern. Named after the Elmes (Ormes) which once grew on the Estate and the village of Pez where the property is based Chateau Ormes De Pez has been owned since the 1940's by the Cazes family of Chateau Lynch-Bages.

Named as one of the nine Chateau to be given the Cru Bourgeois Exceptionell classification in 2003, Chateau Ormes De Pez is considered to be one of the highest quality and most popular of the Cru Bourgeois wines.

With 4o hectares of vineyard in St-Estephe planted across gravel, clay and sandy soils, Chateau Ormes De Pez plant a higher percentage of Merlot on their clay soils than neighbouring Chateaux adding to the wines soft character.
