Wine Description:
Pale lemon in colour with an expressive nose of grapefruit and stone fruits with a hint of blackcurrant leaf. The palate is fruit-forward, balanced by a bright freshness and long mineral finish.
The grapes were harvested by machine and 30% then underwent skin contact maceration for 12 hours before being gently pressed. Alcoholic fermentation was temperature-controlled at a cool 16 degrees in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and aromatics in the wine. The wine spends a few months on fine lees with occasional battonage to add some texture and complexity to the finished wine.Producer Description
Domaine Joël Delaunay is a family-owned estate in the Touraine AOC, currently run by fifth-generation owner Thierry Delaunay. Like his forward-thinking father Joël Delaunay, who insisted on estate bottling in 1970, Thierry is similarly pioneering and was the first Touraine producer to bottle under screwcap in 2004.
The domaine comprises 34 hectares of vineyards farmed using sustainable practices. 90% of Domaine Joël Delaunay’s production is white wine, predominantly made from Sauvignon Blanc.
