Morgon Chateau Grange Cochard 2009 Selection Case

2009 is widely regarded as one of the best vintages in the Beajolais in living memory.  James and Sarah Wilding purchased the domaine in 2008 and have overseen a comprehensive renovation.  Palmers Wine Store is pleased to stock all three wines produced by Grange Cochard, the Vielles Vignes, Les Charmes and Cote du Py.  In the recent Decanter Beaujolais 2009 panel tasting the Cote du Py was ranked top of all the Morgons and the Vieilles Vignes came second.

Cote du Py - 5 stars, 18 points:  "Fresh, balanced nose with lovely purity.  Medium bodied with firm tannins and lots of scented fruit.  A fleshy style with a tight structure.  Long finish"

Vieilles Vignes - 4 stars, 17.5 points: "Elegant and pure nose of raspberry and strawberry.  Packed with fresh fruit on the palate with a chewy but fine structure.  Good minerality on the finish"
