Valdespino is one of the oldest bodegas in Jerez. In 1264, Alfonso Valdespino was one of 24 knights who fought against the Arabs for the city of Jerez with King Alfonso X. As a reward for his efforts, he was given the land that formed the basis of the bodega. Deliciosa is very dry, crisp and fresh with a slightly saline finish.

Bottled with an average age of over 25 years. It is dark mahogany in colour with an aromatic nose of nuts, dates, raisins, black chocolate and background hints of liquorice. Rich, smooth and full bodied with an attractive sweetness which does not obscure the wine's old Oloroso backbone.

Ripe apple aromas and notes of brioche. The palate has orchard fruit characters, bright acidity, and a persistent mousse. The traditional Cava grapes of Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel-lo are sourced from a single vineyard. Winemaking follows the traditional method with second fermentation in bottle. The wine ages on lees, in the bottle, for 12-15 months before release.

Aromatically this has a really inviting and vibrant fresh fruit expression of dark cherries, red plums, baking spices, with gently floral notes. The palate focuses on fruit but with enough tannin to give structure, a good length finish, and gentle oaky notes.

Aromas of stone fruit backed by fennel and mountain herbs. The palate is complex with ripe citrus and white peach notes, bright balancing acidity, and a broad, textured mouthfeel - long and lightly saline on the finish.

The 'Louro' is a straw colour with youthful highlights. It has intense aromas of citrus fruits, wild mountain flowers, hints of fennel and flinty nuances. On the palate, it is fruit-forward supported by a taut, saline minerality and a textural complexity Was £24.50

Very clean and expressive, with citrus and white fruit notes. Aromas of small white flowers also appear. Mouth: very fresh and agile. Round, with a certain structure typical of the variety and a tasty and persistent finish. Aftertaste: complete, refreshing and very pleasant.

The Casanova family have a 60ha estate planted with classic Parallada Macabeo and Xarello. A wonderful green apple nose with an opulent, almost tropical fruit palate.
