Chateau Branaire-Ducru

Chateau Branaire-Ducru is a fourth growth Grand Cru Classe based in Saint-Julien. Origionally part of the much larger Beychevelle estate back in the 1600's which was broken up and sold off as individual estates.

Bought by Jean-Baptiste Braneyre who gave his name to the estate and bought the land that the vineyards are now planted on. In 1875 Gustave Ducru took ownership of the estate which has since then become Chateau Branaire Ducru.

Now owned by Patrick Maroteaux since 1988 and since his arrival Chateau Branaire Ducru has undergone extensive modernisation.
