Wine Description:

Vaudesir is a Grand Cru vineyard located located in the lower part of the valley characterised by chalky limestone and Kimmeridian. The wines are steely and saline with a generous palate.

Tasting Note:

A serious Chablis of great power. Stoney and saline with chalky minerality and fresh, crisp orchard fruit.

Producer Description

Louis Michel & Fils are a family owned and run Domaine located in the heart of the original Chablis region. Owning 21 hectares of vineyards mainly Premier and Grand Cru including the legendary Grenouilles and Vaudesir Grand Cru sites and parcels in Premier Cru sites that include Montmains, Vaillons, Sechets and Montee De Tonnerre.

They have been producing wines since the 19th century and is currently managed by Guillaume Michel. The Domaine's own vineyards consist of 45 years old vines and are located within a two kilometre radius of the winery.

Minermal intervention is a priority and Louis Michel & Fils have been some what of a pioneer in Chablis with the use of stainless steel and moving away from oak from as early as the 1960's.
