Chateau Cantemerle is a Fifth Cru Classe Chateau based in the Haut-Medoc. From the early maturing 2011 vintage, a blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot with 12 months spent in oak.
Dark and firm with blackcurrent and blackberry fruit and hints of wood. Still youthful but starting to drink.
Chateau Cantemerle is 20 hectare 5th Cru Classe Chateau based in the Haut-Medoc. Missed off of the origional 1855 classification and added in 1856 their addition remains one of the only changes to the Cru Classe classification. Chateau Cantemerle dates back to the 16th century and is one of only four Chateaux from the Haut-Medoc to be a classed growth.
